SkyTrain Attendant
Responsible for the first-line of contact between SkyTrain and our Customers.

Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service - Answering inquiries and assisting customers such as providing directions, bus information, helping customers with disabilities, dealing with lost property and locating lost children.
  • Fare Compliance - Performing fare inspections on board trains and at stations.
  • Providing a Visible Presence - Watching for and deterring potential problems to prevent security incidents.
  • Failure Management - Responding and assisting in equipment failures such as mechanical faults on trains and station equipment malfunction.
  • Emergency Response - Responding to emergency situations which may result in injury to customers or staff.

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Extensive customer service experience.
  • Technical training or experience such as working with computers, alarm systems, or mechanical equipment/systems.
  • Basic Emergency First Aid training and application in a work environment required.
  • Other types of emergency response training and experience.
  • Other types of relevant work/volunteer experience that would involve a broad range of public contact.

On-Call Administrative Support
Responsible for casual admin/clerical support.

This is a casual (as and when required) position. Administrative and clerical in nature, this position provides coverage for employees on leaves of absence and annual vacation as examples. This position would be well suited to individuals with admin/clerical background and an interest in occasional hours of work.

You have at least 2 years admin/clerical experience with excellent MS Office skills and typing speed of 60wpm.

Elevator/Escalator Technician
Responsible for the maintenance & repair of all elevators & escalators.

In this full time regular position and reporting to the Elevator/Escalator Supervisor, the Elevator/Escalator Technician will be responsible for the inspection, repair and maintenance of elevators and escalators throughout the SkyTrain system. The successful candidate will be required to carry a pager for emergency coverage as determined on the schedule and monitor contractors as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Elevator/Escalator mechanical trade qualification or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years troubleshooting, repair and maintenance experience on elevator and escalator facilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to function as part of a maintenance team.
  • Working knowledge of CSA Standard CAN/CSA-B44-M94, Safety Code for Elevators.
  • Knowledge of the CSA Standard C22.1 Canadian Electrical Code (Part 1) an asset.
  • Class 5 BC Driver’s License.

Guideway Serviceperson
Responsible for the repair and maintenance of the rail.

As part of our team of Guideway Servicepersons, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of running rail, switches, switch machines, and related track elements. You will also operate large rail-borne equipment such as grinders and speeders, as well as heavy industrial tools.

The successful candidates will possess a minimum of three years' industrial/mechanical maintenance experience in a heavy industrial environment. Shift work is required. Experience in rail may be an asset, along with trades training leading towards a relevant Trades Qualification.

Guideway Labourer
Responsible for temporary project assistance in track area upgrade.

In this physically demanding labourer position, you will be organizing material for assembly and installation; assisting Technicians and Servicepersons in moving parts and equipment; some fabrication and assembly work as directed.

You have a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License along with experience using small power tools. Flexibility to work various shifts is required. You will be required to work in all weather conditions.
